When we check the reach stacker engine air filter condition indicator, if the indicator turns red, the filter element needs to be replaced. So, why should the air filter be replaced regularly?
1. Dirty air filter elements will reduce the air required for normal combustion in the combustion chamber, making combustion
incomplete.
2. For the engine to exert its maximum power, it needs enough air to support combustion.
3. The entry of foreign particles into the combustion chamber will cause abnormal wear of the components in the cylinder.
When should the filter element be replaced?
1. When the indicator turns red, it is time to replace the filter element.
2. Check the air filter regularly when the working environment of the locomotive is very high.
3. Replace the insurance filter element under the following conditions:
- The main filter element has been replaced 5 times
- At least every other year
- The main indicator is still red after the main filter element is replaced
Notice:
Wipe the inside of the filter housing clean before replacing the filter element. The insurance filter element cannot be cleaned and reused. If it is necessary to clean the main filter element and reinstall it in an emergency, do not use compressed air to clean it.
