How to maintain the air filter?

It’s cold and the air quality is getting worse, so we need to wear a mask. Our equipment also has a mask. This mask is called an air filter, which is what everyone often refers to as an air filter. Here is how to replace the air filter and the precautions for replacing the air filter.

When you use construction machinery and equipment daily, you should always pay attention to the color of the air filter indicator. If the air filter indicator shows red, it indicates that the inside of the air filter is clogged, and you should clean up or replace the filter element in time.

1. Before disassembling and inspecting the air filter, seal the engine in advance to prevent dust from directly falling into the engine. First, carefully open the clamp around the air filter, gently remove the side cover of the air filter, and clean the dust on the side cover.

2. Rotate the sealing cover of the filter element with both hands until the sealing cover is unscrewed, and gently take out the old filter element from the shell.

2. The inner surface of the housing should be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not wipe too hard to avoid damaging the seals of the air filter housing. Please note: Never wipe with oil cloth.

3. Clean the ash discharge valve on the side of the air filter to remove the dust inside. When cleaning the filter element with an air gun, clean it from the inside to the outside of the filter element. Never blow from the outside to the inside (air gun pressure is 0.2MPa). Please note: the filter element should be replaced after cleaning six times.

4. Remove the safety filter element and check the light transmittance of the safety filter element toward the light source. If there is any light transmission, the safety filter element should be replaced immediately. If you do not need to replace the safety filter, wipe it with a clean damp cloth. Please note: Never use oil cloth to wipe, and never use an air gun to blow the safety filter.

5. Install the safety filter element after the filter element has been cleaned. When installing the safety filter element, gently push the safety filter element to the bottom to determine whether the safety filter element is installed in place and whether the position is secure.

6. After ensuring that the filter element is installed firmly, screw in the filter element sealing cover with both hands. If the filter element sealing cover cannot be screwed in completely, check whether the filter element is stuck or not installed properly. After the filter element sealing cover is installed correctly, Install the side cover, tighten the clamps around the air filter in turn, check the air filter’s tightness, and ensure that there is no leakage of all parts.
