Application Scenarios

Fit for Caterpillar 3508, 3512, 3516 series engines. Suitable for heavy‑duty operation of mine generator sets, large bulldozers and excavators. Used to replace original injector valve tappets with worn rollers and scored surfaces.

Maintenance & Replacement Tips

Shut down the engine and let it cool fully, relieve fuel line pressure, remove cylinder head cover and injector assemblies.
Take out old tappet, inspect cam lobe for scoring, clean sludge and metal debris inside tappet bore.
Lubricate tappet outer wall and roller with engine oil before installation, align roller toward cam.
After injector assembly, crank engine by hand for multiple cycles to ensure smooth tappet movement without jamming or abnormal noise.
Do not reuse tappet with spalled roller, scored shaft or heavy pitting; replace directly.

Q: Can I replace only one tappet with worn roller?
A: Inspect wear condition of other tappets and cam lobes. If fatigue marks appear on multiple units, set replacement is recommended.

Q: What causes rough idle after new tappet installation?
A: Check injector sealing, cam wear, tappet bore clearance and injection synchronization of each cylinder.
