The turbocharger is actually an air compressor, which increases the intake air volume by compressing air. The impeller pressurizes the air sent from the air filter pipe and pressurizes it into the cylinder. When the engine speed increases, the exhaust gas discharge speed and the turbine speed also increase simultaneously, and the impeller compresses more air into the cylinder. The increase in air pressure and density can burn more fuel, increase the amount of fuel and adjust the engine speed accordingly. The output power of the engine can be increased.
The main function of turbocharging is to increase the air intake of the engine, thereby increasing the power and torque of the engine, making the car more vigorous. After an engine is equipped with a turbocharger, its maximum power can be increased by 40% or even higher than when the turbocharger is not installed. This also means that the same engine can output more power after being supercharged. The turbocharger is one of the important parts of the engine. Its function is to increase engine power. After damage, the air intake is insufficient, the pressure in the combustion chamber is low, and the diesel fuel is not completely burned, causing the engine crankshaft speed to drop and the output power to weaken. The power of the crankshaft rotation is transmitted to the flywheel, which is connected with the elastic plate of the torque converter and the cover wheel, and the cover wheel is connected with the pump wheel and the transfer gear. The transfer gear controls the steering pump drive shaft, hydraulic pump, and variable speed pump drive shaft, so damage to the supercharger will affect the powerlessness of the whole machine.
For high-speed rotating turbochargers, the internal bearings are lubricated and protected by engine oil. If the turbocharger is damaged, the assembly is usually replaced directly. To prolong the service life of the supercharger, the engine must be used correctly and maintained according to regulations. Before starting the engine, check whether the amount of oil and water meet the requirements. The engine must be warmed up, and the lubrication system can only work after the oil pressure comes up. Do not turn off the flame immediately after heavy work. The air filter, oil, and oil filter must be replaced as required. Regularly check the air-tightness of the intake system to prevent foreign matter from entering the turbocharger, etc.
